REFEO is proud to support the Lift the Ban campaign, a coalition of nearly 300 organizations, businesses, trade unions, local authorities, and faith groups across the UK, advocating for the right to work for people seeking asylum.

Under current UK policy, asylum seekers who have been waiting for over 12 months for an initial decision on their claim—without being responsible for delays—can apply for permission to work. However, if granted, their employment is restricted to jobs listed on the Immigration Salary List (ISL), which replaced the Shortage Occupation List (SOL) in April 2024.
